Role and Responsibilities
GEO: New York
- The role will be part a specialty credit team within a prestigious investment firm, investing in private market ABS opportunities across Consumer Finance, Small Business Finance, Housing Finance, and other Emerging ABS assets. The broader organization is an asset management firm the invests across public and private markets globally.
- Responsibilities will include deal sourcing, execution, documentation, due diligence, and surveillance.
- Candidate must be self-motivated, approach the role with a sense of urgency and focus, have an ownership mentality, and be a strong team player.
- Candidate should have passion for the industry, the role and investing
- Experience with private asset finance, as well as capital markets are necessary.

- Responsibilities will include:
- Deal Sourcing and Origination:
- Cultivate and maintain a network of partners to facilitate the origination of new investment opportunities in the asset-based finance space.
- Have an existing network of relationships with prior asset partners to engage with.
- Deal Evaluation
- Evaluate the high-level risk reward in the early stages to determine if the opportunity is worthwhile to bring forward for further diligence.
- In further diligence, be able to properly underwrite the structure risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, relative value assessment, and counterparty risk utilizing both a market based and analytical based approach, working alongside the team.
- Manage Due Diligence Process
- Perform due diligence to a standard process, with the ability to implement asset and investment specific diligence items as well.
- Pro-active nature to improve due diligence process where necessary.
- Deal Execution
- Oversee the execution of the transaction working alongside members of the team, internal and external groups such as legal, etc.
- Investment Memos
- Putting together fulsome investment memos and relevant addendums to provide thorough underwriting and investment details to the Investment Committee.
- Manage Ongoing Surveillance of Investments
- Ability to continue to monitor and maintain surveillance on investments that were led working alongside other members of the team, maintaining a sense of ownership mentality.
- Interact with Fund Investors
- Ability to articulate and describe investments in a clear and concise way to other team members, as well as Fund investors.

Qualifications
- 4 plus years of experience in the financial services industry with a meaningful portion in the asset finance and securitization spaces
- Existing established relationships with potential asset investment partners a plus
- Experience sourcing and leading transactions from inception to deal closing
- Strong understanding of market standards for private ABS transactions, including implicit rating agency estimates and process
- Strong understanding of the quantitative analysis necessary for these investments
- Appreciate the difference between investing and acting as agent
- Experience with various types of whole loan pools contractual cashflows, or assets
- Experience with lending facilities secured by whole loan pools, contractual cashflows. or assets
- Working knowledge and understanding of asset finance and structured products across consumer, real estate and mortgage, and broader asset finance
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, and R or any other scripting languages a plus
- Collaborative, team oriented, and willingness to take a leadership role as needed
- Strong work ethic, and ownership mentality with a high degree of focus on creating results
- Strong communication skills and willingness to be outgoing and aggressive on the sourcing of transactions
