ROLE: Our client is seeking a Partnerships Associate. Reporting directly to one of the VC Fund’s Partners, this role sits within the Partnerships Team at the fund. The Partnerships Team is a critical unit dedicated to understanding and demystifying the Fortune 500 Parent as well as establishing and maintaining connectivity between the Fortune 500 Parent enterprise and the venture fund. As a team member, you will act as a critical liaison between the venture fund, the venture fund’s portfolio companies, and the Fortune 500 Parent. Your role will be pivotal in building the venture fund’s relationships across the Fortune 500 Parent, identifying strategic synergies where portfolio companies can collaborate effectively with the Fortune 500 Parent to advance healthcare innovation, and investigating relevant innovation areas for corporate leaders at the Fortune 500 Parent. This work will take the form of conducting research and analyses on areas of strategic interest for the Fortune 500 Parent executives and business unit leaders, providing the opportunity to identify new investment opportunities that align with the Fortune 500 Parent’s strategic priorities, as well as growth opportunities for the venture fund’s existing portfolio companies.
In this role, you will play a key role in highlighting areas of innovation within the healthcare industry, presenting insights to internal stakeholders to demonstrate the venture fund’s position as a thought leader. This will include conducting in-depth analyses and developing presentations to highlight healthcare innovation trends in relevant market areas, articulating how portfolio company solutions can address specific business challenges within the Fortune 500 Parent, and collaborating closely with the investment team to support portfolio companies in navigating corporate relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the Fortune 500 Parent to understand their business needs and priorities.
- Develop strategic analyses, presentations, and briefs for the Fortune 500 Parent leaders on stated areas of interest and / or potential areas of investment.
- Create materials for the Fortune 500 Parent leaders highlighting the value and relevance of the venture fund’s portfolio companies in addressing specific business needs and emerging opportunities.
- Assist Investments team in managing portfolio companies’ ad-hoc requests related to the venture fund’s corporate engagements, including strategic partnership discussions.
- Conduct broad and extensive research to understand the healthcare/ investment markets and how they may impact the venture fund’s portfolio companies and the Fortune 500 Parent, while building relationships with internal stakeholders to promote collaboration and identify emerging trends.
- Maintain and enhance organizational framework for monitoring interactions across the Fortune 500 Parent, the venture fund and portfolio companies.
- Present market insights on innovative healthcare solutions, while building relationships with internal/external stakeholders to promote collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3 years of experience in consulting, preferably with a focus on healthcare clients, namely payers and providers. Proven ability to conduct market analyses, deliver strategic recommendations, and manage client engagements.
- Demonstrated proficiency in conducting thorough research, synthesizing complex information, and delivering high-quality presentations (PowerPoint) and written reports.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights for executive-level audiences.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to create and present concise and compelling briefs to senior executives. Experience in engaging with and influencing stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Solid understanding of healthcare industry dynamics and trends, with the capability to quickly grasp and navigate different market segments and regulatory environments.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and capable of making independent contributions. Proven track record of taking initiative, driving projects forward, and achieving results in dynamic and evolving landscapes.
